Honduras is located in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Guatemala and Nicaragua and bordering the Gulf of Fonseca (North Pacific Ocean), between El Salvador and Nicaragua. Its terrain is mostly mountains in interior, narrow coastal plains. The climate is subtropical in lowlands, temperate in mountains. In area, the country is slightly larger than Tennessee.

Important agricultural products include sugarcane, oil palm fruit, maize, milk, bananas, coffee, cantaloupes/melons, oranges, chicken, beans (2023). Notable exports include garments, coffee, insulated wire, palm oil, shellfish (2023).
