Dominica is located in Caribbean, island between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, about halfway between Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago. Its terrain is rugged mountains of volcanic origin. The climate is tropical, moderated by northeast trade winds, heavy rainfall. In area, the country is slightly more than four times the size of Washington, DC.
